Arkansas State's Cobb earns Walter Camp All-America recognition
Arkansas State wide receiver Chauncy Cobb continues to gain national recognition heading into the 2026 season.
The junior added another accolade to an already impressive preseason résumé Tuesday after being named a Second Team Preseason All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation, becoming the first Red Wolf to earn Walter Camp preseason All-America recognition since 2009.
The honor is the latest in what has become a growing list of national preseason recognition for Cobb, who has also earned preseason All-Conference honors from Lindy’s while being widely regarded as one of the top Group of Five playmakers entering the season. His standout 2025 campaign also landed him on the HERO Sports Group of Five All-America Team and the All-Sun Belt Conference team.
Cobb emerged as one of the nation’s most versatile offensive threats last season.
The Florida native ranked eighth in the Football Bowl Subdivision with 538 kickoff return yards and was one of only four FBS players to return multiple kickoffs for touchdowns, taking kicks back for scores against Arkansas and Louisiana.
He was equally productive in Arkansas State’s passing game, hauling in 73 receptions for 797 yards while serving as quarterback Jaylen Raynor’s primary target. His 73 catches ranked among the Sun Belt Conference leaders and helped establish him as one of the league’s most dependable receivers.
Now entering his junior season, Cobb is expected to play an even larger role as the Red Wolves break in a new starting quarterback following Raynor’s departure.
His combination of sure hands, route-running ability and game-breaking return skills gives head coach Butch Jones one of the most dynamic all-around weapons in the Sun Belt Conference.
