Pannone Prepares for Year One at Arkansas State: “Our Guys Have Bought In”

As the Arkansas State men’s basketball team prepares to open the 2025–26 season tonight at Ohio in the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge, first-year head coach Ryne Pannone is already seeing signs of growth from a completely rebuilt roster.

Pannone, who took over the program in March, inherited a team that had seen significant roster turnover following the departure of former head coach Bryan Hodgson. With 15 new players and no returnees, the Red Wolves essentially started from scratch. Still, the new coach said he’s been pleased with how quickly his players have embraced his system and his expectations.
