Arkansas State stood toe-to-toe with one of the nation’s best Saturday at Centennial Bank Stadium, falling just short in a 24-16 loss to No. 14 Iowa State.
The Red Wolves (1-2) trailed by only a point entering the fourth quarter and had a chance to tie late in the game before the Cyclones’ defense held on. Despite the setback, the performance showed plenty of positives against the highest-ranked opponent to visit Jonesboro since A-State joined the FBS ranks.
