Cobb Embraces Leadership Role as Arkansas State Prepares for 2026 Season
Chauncy Cobb’s journey at Arkansas State has been anything but overnight.
The preseason All-Sun Belt selection arrived in Jonesboro with little fanfare, played sparingly during his first two seasons and patiently waited for his opportunity.
Now, entering the 2026 season as one of the conference’s most dynamic playmakers, Cobb has embraced a new role — leading one of Arkansas State’s deepest wide receiver rooms while helping usher in a new starting quarterback.
Speaking Wednesday during Sun Belt Conference Football Media Days, Cobb said the competition at quarterback has energized the offense throughout the offseason.
“We’ve got four quarterbacks competing,” Cobb said. “It’s exciting. They all compete. If I could play with all four of them, I’d play with all four of them.”
