Arkansas State hangs close for a half before falling 31-7 at TCU

Arkansas State managed to stay within striking distance of TCU through the first half Saturday night, but the Horned Frogs pulled away after the break for a 31-7 victory at Amon G. Carter Stadium.

The Red Wolves (1-2) trailed just 14-7 at halftime after putting together an 84-yard touchdown drive late in the second quarter. TCU (2-1) kept A-State off the scoreboard over the final two quarters while adding 17 unanswered points.

Quarterback Trey Owens completed 11 of 24 passes for 133 yards while also leading Arkansas State with a career-high 58 rushing yards. His night included a career-long 34-yard run.
