When Arkansas State opens fall camp, one of the most closely watched position groups will be the secondary.
The Red Wolves enter the 2026 season with a blend of returning contributors, experienced transfers and young talent that gives defensive coordinator Griff McCarley plenty of options as he continues building a defense capable of competing for a Sun Belt championship.
On paper, Arkansas State has the athleticism and depth to field one of the conference’s better defensive backfields.
Whether that potential becomes reality will depend on how quickly the unit comes together during August.
