Arkansas State Baseball Adds Four Transfers to 2026 Roster
Arkansas State baseball head coach Mike Silva announced the addition of four new signees to the Red Wolves' 2026 roster on Thursday, continuing to bolster the team with talent from across the country. Joining the program are left-handed pitcher Ryan Ashford, right-handed pitchers James Trimble and Houston Tomlinson, and two-way player Cole Manuel.
Ryan Ashford transfers to A-State from the University of Miami. The Lake Mary, Fla., native made four appearances as a freshman for the Hurricanes, allowing just one earned run on four hits. A standout at Lake Mary High School, Ashford was a three-time all-conference selection and earned 2024 First Team All-Orlando Area honors. He finished his senior season with a dominant 0.89 ERA and 70 strikeouts across 55 innings, setting a single-season school record with 12 wins.
James Trimble joins the Red Wolves after time at Louisiana, Alvin Community College, and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. In 2025, he struck out 16 batters over 11 appearances with the Ragin’ Cajuns. His collegiate journey began at TAMU-CC in 2023, where he logged 13.2 innings. A native of Galveston, Texas, Trimble was a standout at Ball High School, earning UIL First Team All-League and First Team All-District honors as a senior.
Cole Manuel arrives in Jonesboro following two productive seasons at Jones College in Mississippi. A versatile two-way player, Manuel made 100 appearances and 89 starts as both a catcher and infielder. He slashed .295/.465/.421 with 63 RBIs, 53 runs, 15 doubles, and six home runs. On the mound, the right-hander recorded a 2-1 record and 2.84 ERA with 18 strikeouts in 19 innings pitched.
Houston Tomlinson, a right-handed pitcher, transfers in after his freshman season at Texas A&M. Rated 22nd in Prep Baseball’s 2024 Texas class rankings, Tomlinson helped lead Grand Oaks High School to a second-round playoff appearance before heading to College Station.
These four transfers join an already impressive 2025 A-State recruiting class that includes players from high schools, junior colleges, and Division I programs across the country.
