A-State Women’s Basketball Announces 2025-26 Non-Conference Slate, Highlighted by Bahamas Trip
Fresh off its historic first NCAA Tournament appearance, the Arkansas State women’s basketball program is wasting no time building on momentum. Head coach Destinee Rogers unveiled the Red Wolves’ 2025-26 non-conference schedule on Monday, a slate packed with five home games, two in-state road trips, and a marquee in-season tournament in The Bahamas.
The campaign begins with a home exhibition against Henderson State on Oct. 28 before the official season opener against Ball State (Nov. 3) in the first leg of the MAC-SBC Challenge. A-State then hits the road for matchups at Tarleton State (Nov. 7) and Missouri (Nov. 11).
“We wanted to put together a schedule that challenges us early and gives our fans plenty of chances to see us at home,” Rogers said. “This group gained a lot of confidence last year, and we’re excited to test ourselves again right away.”
The Red Wolves will host in-state rival Little Rock on Nov. 15, followed by a road trip to Central Arkansas (Nov. 19). They’ll also travel to Jackson State (Nov. 23) before heading to paradise to compete in the Baha Mar Hoops Nassau Championship. A-State opens the event against Houston (Nov. 28) and will face either Kent State or Tulsa two days later.
December features a three-game homestand at First National Bank Arena, with Florida Gulf Coast (Dec. 3), UT Martin (Dec. 6), and Southern Arkansas (Dec. 9) all visiting Jonesboro. The Red Wolves close the non-conference slate with a December 28 trip to Fayetteville to face the Arkansas Razorbacks.
The back end of the MAC-SBC Challenge is set for Feb. 7, with the opponent to be determined.
A-State finished 21-11 overall and 15-3 in the Sun Belt last season, winning the conference tournament to punch its ticket to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. Rogers said the non-conference schedule was designed to build on that success.
“Going to the NCAA Tournament was a milestone for this program,” Rogers added. “Now the goal is to make it a regular expectation. This schedule is about preparing us to compete at that level again.”
