2026 Opponent Breakdown: Troy Trojans
When Arkansas State closes the regular season against Troy on Nov. 28 at Centennial Bank Stadium, there’s a good chance much more than bragging rights will be on the line.
The Trojans have become one of the Sun Belt Conference’s model programs over the last decade, winning eight conference championships since 2004 and reaching last season’s Sun Belt Championship Game. While Troy enters 2026 with significant roster turnover, head coach Gerad Parker has already shown he can keep the Trojans in contention, guiding the program to an 8-6 record and a championship game appearance in 2025 after a disappointing 4-8 debut season.
For Arkansas State, the matchup could be one of the defining games of the season.
The Red Wolves have legitimate aspirations of competing for a Sun Belt title under Butch Jones, and finishing the regular season against one of the conference’s perennial contenders may ultimately determine postseason positioning.
